“The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins” is one of Dr. Seuss’ earlier books as it is not written in the rhyming text that Dr. Seuss has been well known for. “The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins” is about a new boy named Bartholomew Cubbins who discovers that every time he gets a hat off his school principal, a new one sprouts up on his head, which cause difficulty for him when the king finds out about it.This book may be a bit too dark for smaller kids, but older kids will definitely savor this classic tale from Dr. Seuss. His early book is not written in the traditional rhyming text that he has been known for, but is rather written in a splendid narrative that is stated in an exceedingly exciting and efficient means. The story is also extremely creative as hats appeared on Bartholomew’s head with a real explanation which makes the matter secret.Dr. Seuss’ illustrations are once again in black and ashen with the exception of Bartholomew’s hats which are colored red, which effectively show how the hat receives a huge importance to the news report. The 500 hats, start simply, each hat is as bare as the one before it.However, the magic of each new hat, propels the story forward through all the efforts of people to break the flow of hats. All kinds of pessimists, skeptics, and the supposedly wise are challenged by what they experience. Eventually, this creative process creates such conflict that uses up the situations to new heights, which somehow inspire spontaneous improvement and change. What used to be simple, becomes increasingly ornate and valuable, culminating in a conception that transcends the entire office.
I really love this book. But not simply because it is a great children’s story, which is deservedly being. This script is outstanding, because it illustrates what I consider to be the principle of creative repetition. Thus, rather than a simple narration, I read this as a metaphor to urge on the creative process.Rather than attempt to produce the capital works, exactly perform the simple acts repeatedly and note the small variety accumulate into something big.“The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins” is a marvelous story that is both exciting and suspenseful for many youngsters and will be loved by many children for a long time to add up. I would commend this book to youngsters’ ages six and up because of the extreme dark tone that this book presents that would frighten small kids. Thus, even though this is a children’s book, it interprets a value that can be meaningful to adults. And it’s a fine tale as well.
